Our state won’t fine you for wandering around your neighborhood–not yet, anyway–but we’re being strongly encouraged to limit our shopping and travel. That means we haven’t been anywhere but the park (at safe distances) for at least a week, but this morning I had to do some shopping. The stores are still pretty weird, with pre-sanitized carts and “shopping lanes” set up to keep people from getting close to each other. But products are returning to the shelves, and I only had to visit two stores to get all the groceries we’ll need for a week, maybe a week and a half.
When things go crazy, little things can take you from “anxious wreck” to “cozily waiting out the storm.” Today’s trip yielded all purpose flour, decent rice, a reasonable variety of frozen veggies, sweet potatoes, and other basics that make dinner worth cooking. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone still out there working to keep us home-bound folks fed.
