Everything is tense and shitty. Our state hasn’t issued a shelter-in-place order and so far doesn’t plan to but most places are closed or severely restricted anyway. Mr. Robot’s employers mostly work with small business advertising so their revenue has dropped to almost nothing as all those businesses have closed. This means that even though they really hope to keep him on they can’t afford to actually pay him for at least the next two months. Good thing everything’s closed because money’s gonna be tight. It’s Robot’s job but I’m in charge of the household budget so I’ve been crunching numbers the last couple of days.  It’s stressful as hell but planning calms me down, and we have more savings than a lot of people being laid off right now. I’m trying to remember that and be grateful.

Looks like the kids will be finishing this school year online. It’s not official yet but things are trending that way. My kids are very social so they’re not too happy about this but they’re adapting and doing pretty well. We’re trying to keep a routine and since we’re still allowed to hike and play at the local parks, when the weather is good we do that to keep ourselves healthy and sane. In the evenings we’re reading some Sherlock Holmes mysteries together and watching Netflix. With kids around all the time I don’t get much chance to catch up on horror movies or listen to music but I’ve been reading The Beetleand catching up on the Generation Why true crime podcast in spare moments.
