I’m usually too lazy to blog my work in progress but now that I’ve finished the knotted design on the back I wanted to show it off. It’s easier than it looks but the pattern is pretty precise so I had to count the stitches carefully and keep checking to make sure everything looked right. I had to rip out and redo a few rows here and there but it was still a fun challenge and I’m happy with how it looks.

If you compare this to the original pattern you’ll notice my knot design is backwards, with the small knot on the left instead of the right. This is because I’m left-handed and everything I crochet is reversed. It usually doesn’t make any difference so I didn’t even think about it until I actually started making the knots. Everything else about this project is pretty much symmetrical so I don’t think I’ll have any problems but I should try to remember this next time I pick out a design like this.
It feels weird to call my black hoodie project a Crimson Cardigan but that’s the pattern name. Since it’s made in pieces and stitched together, I’m thinking of buying some red yarn for the stitched seams as a subtle way to make it a more “crimson” cardigan. I can’t decide if it would look cool or just odd. What do you think, fellow crafters?
