My Very Short List of Christmas Movies

,

I love Christmas movies. I’m not at all picky about them. Every year we watch whatever sappy movies Netflix offers up. The Christmas Prince (and the sequel), You Can’t Fight Christmas, Daddy’s Home 2. I normally hate romantic comedies and I’m pretty picky about comedy in general, but the moment Christmas comes near I become a totally different person. A really fun person with no taste.

Of course we love Nightmare Before Christmas, but we start watching that before Halloween so I don’t count it as part of my Christmas fever. Our traditional Christmas movie is The Grinch. The original short one with Boris Karloff. We watch it every Christmas Eve before the kids go to bed, and we listen to the soundtrack all Christmas season.

We also enjoy Gremlins, which people forget is a Christmas movie. My kids love this one. I also need to show them Home Alone. I can’t believe I’ve never made them watch it. Such a parenting fail.

And then there’s Bad Santa. I don’t watch it with the kids of course. Not until they’re a little older. No, I put it one, pour myself a whiskey, and laugh while I wrap presents.
