Quick Pics: the Sequel

Our neighborhood is full of hummingbirds right now, zipping from bush to bush. There’s a long stretch of sidewalk near my house with purple morning glories and some sort of trumpet vines blooming along it. It’s a great place to see hummingbirds and butterflies. Maybe in the spring I’ll try planting some hummingbird-friendly flowers in our own yard. Our yard is mostly trees and desertscaped gravel, but we do have a small garden plot that’s currently empty. I’m a terrible gardner but I might be able to keep a handful of native plants alive.

Hummingbirds are much harder to photograph than flowers; by the time I get zoomed in, they’re about ready to flit away. This picture was still a little fuzzy, but I was pleased to get a nice profile of its beak.

In other, more indoorsy news, I bought a new duvet cover. I’ve been thinking about getting a second cover for months and I finally decided on one. It’s from Sin in Linen, a company I’ve heard good things about but hadn’t tried myself. I chose the ‘Darker Academia’ pattern, with inkwells and bats and such all over it. It’s a lovely sort of teal color and the vibe works well in our bedroom.

As for Sin in Linen, this isn’t an official review and I don’t get anything for talking about them, but I like to pass along information on small businesses when I can. Their shipping was reasonably fast and their packaging was quite nice. The texture and quality of the cover and pillowcases seem nice and next time I need interesting bedding I would certainly consider them again.

And that’s my last couple weeks in pictures. Until next time, I’ll leave you with the lovely rainbow that graced our backyard a couple rainstorms ago. Until next time. –Corvus
