Spider Bites

I mentioned our oldest kid’s high school graduation last week. The ceremony went well and she was proud to publicly accept her diploma. After all the speeches and cheering were done, we took her out for teppanyaki. The food was good, the chef friendly, and a good time was had by all. Since then, she’s been training for her summer job and spending time with friends.

In other, smaller news, I got a new piercing. I’ve kicked around the idea of getting spider bites for a while now, and yesterday I decided to finally do it. I’ve had over a dozen piercings done over the years and I’ve gotten tougher about the process, but I was still nervous for this one. Jordy, the piercer who did it, is an old pro though and did a great job. He’s got a pretty calming energy and a gentle touch. It went about as well as being stabbed in the lip (twice) can go and I like the way it turned out.

Now I just need to get brave and get those tattoos I’ve been wanting for years. Maybe I’ll give my lip a few weeks to heal before jumping into that. Until next time, have a daring week. –Corvus
