Before I get to the post, I have a recommendation: go watch The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. I almost didn’t bother because it looked so much different from the original book an movie. Silly me, I worried it would ruin my memories of the originals, but I’m so glad I changed my mind. It was such a perfect expansion on the original, suspenseful and mysterious and full of emotion and family drama. It was really well done and affected my on a surprisingly deep and emotional level. Go watch it. Watch it now.
I got so caught up in painting I was late with the Halloween decor this year. I have one more room to get done, but the fresh paint is Mr. Robot slight migraines so we’re letting the paint cure a couple weeks before doing the dining room.
Which made this weekend the perfect time to break out our skeletons and Lego monsters. We still have to carve some jack-o-lanterns and put up some spiderwebs, but it’s finally starting to feel like Halloween around here. Pretty soon we’ll move the legos and reclaim our kitchen table, but the kids are having so much fun I’ve been putting it off. Our skeleton collection has grown a wee bit–my son found a two-headed skeleton doll at the grocery store of all places, and it’s perfect for our skele-kid.
